The Dichroic Dome

I set this down outside for a second and got a bit mesmerized.
This is the dichroic dome of the Close Magic. The coating's a few layers of metal oxide, thin enough that light splits going through it instead of bouncing off. Straight on, it reads clear. Tilt it a few degrees, or let the sun move, and you get a soap bubble finish.
It takes real craft to apply this finish so that it's flawless. The crystal needs to be right, the application, the hardening. Any slip in attention ruins the piece.
