Dichroic Bubble Dome

The dichroic dome shifts color as you move around it, from bronze to green to gold, depending on the light and your angle. No two viewings are identical.
Beneath it: bright nickel-plated hardware, Czech crystal, Portuguese cork, the same precision construction as The Object, finished differently. Set the dome over a resting smoke and it extinguishes gently; inside, the smoke moves slowly until the particulates settle against the crystal, and the dichroic coating makes that moment something else.
An edition of 30, individually numbered.
Pair it with The Rest, a solid walnut or rift-sawn oak base milled to fit the dome.
We partnered with Bavaria's premier glass innovator, Stumpe Glas, and Czechia's prestige crystal foundry, Bomma, to craft Close Magic. They engineered every part to our exacting specifications.

A dichroic coating on the crystal dome: a microscopically thin film that splits light, reflecting some wavelengths and letting others pass. The color you see depends entirely on your angle and the light, bronze, rose, green, a flash of blue. No two glances are quite the same.
Vapor-deposited to the same micro-millimeter tolerances as everything else in the piece.

- Each card has a unique three word pass phrase written on the back
- Every card is numerically keyed with its corresponding numbered set
- The card is torn in half by hand, creating a unique tear pattern
- We photograph and record this tear pattern, the unique pass phrase, the numeric matching, and keep this information on file.
- We will validate authenticity through careful examination of these proofs

Each set ships with a Jeremy Tinder designed letterpress card, printed at San Francisco's Aesthetic Union. The card is torn in half by hand, and we photograph the tear, the unique three-word passphrase, and the numeric match, and keep this on file.
