I’m Greg. My wife, Ericka, and I started Murmmr™ after I sold GAMAGO — a products-with-personality gift company I founded in 2001.
The team brought on Peter (engineering), Jeremy (branding/illustration), and Enrique (web engineering) Together, we design and manufacture surprising items for the home.
As a small company we enjoy working with other small companies. Our first product, The Object ashtray, has over a dozen family-run operations producing its individual parts.
This ashtray includes the world’s best Czech crystal, exquisite Portuguese cork, Bavarian-milled-brass, and comes with a polishing cloth embroidered and sewn by an old-school punk-rock business right here in SF.

Our products ship in custom-crafted crates ships manufactured by 130 year-old Schnurr Holzverpackungen in Sinningen, Germany. The top lid is secured by 6 standard Phillips head screws. You will need a screwdriver or a powered driver to remove them.

Murmmr™ is dedicated to fighting counterfeit products. Inside of The Object's shipping crate you will find a blue envelope containing your welcome kit and Proof of Originality. Please save your Proof of Originality as it’s the only means for later verifying the authenticity and provenance of your Murmmr™ product.
We cribbed how Banksy’s Pest Control organization archives and validates an artwork’s legitimacy. In your welcome kit you will find one-half of a hand-numbered (to match the unique numbering on your Object) hand-torn letterpress print. We ran a very specific number of these prints on an ancient Heidelberg press with San Francisco’s Aesthetic Union.
The back of the torn print contains a unique hand-written phrase. Murmmr™ keeps the other half of your print - along with records regarding your specific product - securely on file. This creates an unimpeachable provenance trail. To verify your product’s authenticity we will match the two halves of the print, compare tear marks and reassemble the full hand-written phrase with our records.

We accept returns of NEW products within 30 days of an item being delivered. To be returned, an item MUST BE UNUSED. No ashes. The product must be in its original condition and be shipped back in its original packaging. You MUST include The Object’s unique Proof of Originality.
To return an item, FIRST send us an email at info@murmmr.com. We will quickly reply and help you with the process. It is your responsibility to pay for all shipping and handling charges on returned items.
We’ll process your refund once we’ve received and inspected your returned item(s). Refunds are processed 5-8 days after item receipt.

For day-to-day exterior cleaning of The Object use the included polishing cloth — avoid buffing with the embroidered area on the cloth.
The Object is designed for easy cleaning. Please, handwash only — do not put the Object into a dishwasher. We recommend a citrus-based cleaner for the crystal & Brasso brand cleaner for the machined metal bits.
Using a quarter, you can easily unscrew both the handle and the damper to disassemble for a deeper clean. Do be aware, the spherical damper is heavy. Do NOT over tighten when reassembling.
The crate The Object ships in is pretty cool & can be used for all sorts of stuff. As the wood is untreated with chemicals, it makes for a nifty planter box. It’s an easy project to do, requires few tools, and takes about 15 minutes.
