Ashtray sets ship in custom wooden crates made by Schnurr Holzverpackungen in Germany — a 130-year-old company. The lid is secured by six Phillips head screws. You'll need a screwdriver to open it.
Each piece is hand-finished and individually numbered to order; please allow 6 to 8 business days before it ships. USPS is our domestic carrier.
We accept returns of unused products within 30 days of delivery. The item must be in original condition, in original packaging, with its Proof of Originality included..
Engraved products cannot be returned.

Refunds are processed within 5–8 business days of receipt and inspection.

For everyday cleaning, a soft microfiber cloth is all you need.
Clear crystal. Use a citrus-based cleaner.
Milled brass. The brass hardware on The Object, The Object: Cigar, and Jackpot takes Brasso.
Nickel plating. Close Magic's nickel-plated hardware takes a microfiber cloth and a gentle natural soap. Never Brasso.
Coated domes. Close Magic's dichroic dome and Jackpot's 24k gold dome take a microfiber cloth and a gentle natural soap only. No Brasso, no abrasives, no solvents.
To disassemble. Use a coin to unscrew the handle and damper. The damper is heavy, hold it. Do not overtighten when reassembling.
Each ashtray set is individually numbered and ships with a Proof of Originality — our guarantee of authenticity and provenance. Keep it. It cannot be replaced.
Inside your crate you'll find one half of a hand-torn letterpress card, designed by Jeremy Tinder and printed at Aesthetic Union in San Francisco. The back carries a unique three-word passphrase. The card is numerically matched to your Object.
We hold the other half — along with a record of the tear pattern, passphrase, and number — on file. Together, they form an unreproducible proof. To authenticate a product, contact us directly.
